GENERAL DESCRIPTION: The Regional Asset Protection Manager is responsible for monitoring all aspects of the business that potentially generate financial loss, as well as providing leadership and direction to ensure cash handling procedures are followed. This role will also be responsible for enforcing, updating, creating, and designing procedures, and reporting to effectively track and reduce losses and fraud.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

*

Build & maintain a positive and supportive partnership with Director(s) of Retail Operations (DRO).
*

Cultivate and maintain strong collaborative relationships, building trust through fairness, honesty, and openness.
*

Initiate investigations based on the analysis of loss trends, internal reports, and input from other informational sources.
*

Coordinate Asset Protection investigations and gathering of evidence for unlawful activity and breaches of company Policy & Procedure.
*

Assist DRO's and store managers in developing specific action plans that will result in operational and control compliance, conformity with established physical security and protection measures, and maintenance of a safe and secure work environment
*

Assist with onboarding of new Store Managers to also see the store through the eyes of Asset Protection and Risk.
*

Conduct internal investigations with regards to associate theft/fraud/policy violations. This will include face to face and/or telephone interviews with associates suspected of theft/fraud/policy violations.
*

Assist in developing and implement training programs and initiatives to combat Asset Protection issues, reduce shrink, and enhance safety.
*

Analyze major areas of shrink opportunity using reporting and software analysis tools.
*

Monitor compliance with standard operating procedures for Asset Protection, physical security or risk management.
*

Conduct store audits to identify problem areas or procedural deficiencies. Teach/Coach on any deficiencies noted.
*

Effectively plan travel to all markets, including overnight travel, to maximize productivity and minimize expenses within budget.
*

Assist as needed with investigations and mitigation of claims (WC, GL and Auto).
*

Establish effective professional relationships within the audit function, internal clients, the external auditors and other third parties.
*

Verify proper functioning of physical security systems, such as alarms or video cameras.
*

Collaborate with law enforcement agencies to report or investigate crimes.
*

Testify in civil or criminal court proceedings when needed.
*

Active participant in inventory preparation as well as the annual warehouse inventory process as well as the monthly/quarterly store inventory process.
*

Other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE:

*

Bachelor's Degree preferred
*

5-7 years of multi-unit retail management or loss management experience is preferred
*

Valid state motor vehicle license.
*

Open to relocation

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

*

Walking, standing, sitting, listening and talking on a wide variety and continual basis
*

Movement generally throughout the facility areas required on a continual basis
*

Ability to lift 75 pounds
*

Ability to stand for long periods of time
*

Able to operate motor vehicles to meet travel requirement
*

Ability to travel 50-75% of the time within the region
